Fair Packers cambia sede
Dear All
TURNING OVER A NEW (TEA) LEAF
We are now very happily settled into our beautiful new factory situated right on a small, natural wetland, surrounded by wild flowers, and from the front of the factory we have great views of Table Mountain in the distance.
Capricorn Park has very strict environmental policies in place, and we are proud to be situated in this green and environmentally friendly area and as a team we couldn’t wish for a more pleasant working environment or conditions.
Our thanks go to all of you for putting up with any interruptions that you might have experienced during the factory move.
All things considered we managed pretty well, and other than our telephone lines not being correctly installed yet by the national telephone provider we are settled in well and very busy.
A big, public thanks from me to all the team at Fair Packers who worked so hard to get everything done, especially Janine, Eric, Moshall, James, Bernie, Helena, Henry, Brenda, Margie, Marion, Hester and all the rest of the team.
Well done guys.
Thanks to all of you for all of your support and input to get us to this exciting new point in our history.
In keeping with our theme, Turning Over a New (Tea) Leaf, we are also proud to announce that as three equal partners we have all recommitted to working closely together, and are very excited by the many positive changes and improvements that will take place over the coming few months. As well as the new factory, these also include the launch of our new logo, the establishment of our new website, and the installation of our new packing equipment.
After two full and sometimes complicated years together as three equal partners, we have evaluated all that has gone wrong and learnt from what has gone right. We have had frank, honest and open discussions, and we have carefully planned a route forward that allows us to work closely together in unity. We have addresses all of our challenges and recommitted to a professional and Fair future.
We are proud of our very unique business model, and excited about the way forward. I take this opportunity to remind you why we are unique, and why we have fought so hard to make our model work:
66.6% owned by small producers
66.6% voting rights on board owned by small producers
66.6% dividends to small producers
75% of employees from small producer community
50% of management from small producer community
83% of packing staff are women
50% of management are women
As the rooibos producers up in the mountains say;
“It is often the rooibos plant that has experienced the most hardship and overcome the toughest trials, that has the strongest and deepest roots, and that produces the best quality and the most special tasting tea.”
Our best wishes and thanks
The Team at Fair Packers
